Today we present to you a Mexican orchid called Bletia reflexa. This species lives in the mountains, among hillside rocks and meadows of oak and pine forests. It has thickened underground stems that serve as a reserve in difficult times and has long, narrow leaves that hide it among the grasses.
Sometimes this species can completely lose its leaves during its f lowering, which occurs during fall and winter, resulting in a display of orchid bouquets sprouting directly from the ground. These nature spectacles show us the importance of protecting our forests and mountains.
